S I G H T S E E I N G P E R U
AREQUIPA AND CUSCO
AIAQCU
During this 10 day tour you will have the opportunity to experience three
major cities in Peru - Lima, Arequipa and Cusco. In the capital city
of Lima you will visit the sites of the city; while you visit the
Colca Canyon near Arequipa you will have the chance to see magnificent
condors flying; in Cusco you will experience the historical and cultural
side of this marvellous country. You visit the famous site of Machu
Picchu, spend time in the beautiful Sacred Valley, and have some free
time to enjoy the pleasures of the Imperial City of Cusco.
Itinerary
Day One: ARRIVE LIMA
Arrival in Lima. You will be met at the airport and transferred to
your hotel in the Miraflores district of Lima.

Day
Two: LIMA – AREQUIPA
This morning you will be catching your flight to the city of Arequipa.
Here you will be having a city tour, including the sites of the Santa
Catalina Convent and the Museum Santuarios Andinos. The rest of the day
is at leisure.

Day Three: AREQUIPA - CHIVAY
You leave at 6:30 this morning to start your two day tour to the Colca
Canyon. Along the way you will pass the Reserva Nacional de Vicunas.
From the height of 4300 masl, you will be able to appreciate your first
view of the Valley. On the descent you will visit the shelters of some
original settlers (8000 years old.) At Mollepunko, you will see some
pre-Incan paintings. Continuing along, you will visit the imposing
castles at Callali. Tonight you will spend in the town of Chivay, where
you can relax in the local hot springs.

Day Four: CHIVAY - AREQUIPA
After breakfast, you leave for Cruz del Condor to view the magnificent
condors in flight and have a fabulous view of the Colca Canyon. From
here you travel on to the town of Cabanaconde, stopping several times
at viewpoints to see the canyon, before returning to Chivay. After
lunch you begin the return journey to Arequipa, where along the way
where you can view the distant volcanoes.

Day
Five: AREQUIPA - CUSCO
This morning you will catch your short flight to the Imperial City
of Cusco. This afternoon you will be having a guided tour of this magical
city (Cathedral,Koricancha,Sacsayhuaman, Q’enko, Puca Pucara
and Tambo Machay).

Day Six: CUSCO –SACRED VALLEY
You depart very early for your tour of the Sacred Valley. You stop first at the local market in Pisaq before heading to the unique agricultural ruins of Moray and the still functioning salt mines of Maras. Later today you will be arriving into the fortress town of Ollantaytambo for a tour of the ruins. You will also be spending the night here..

Day Seven: SACRED VALLEY - MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO
We leave the Sacred Valley first thing in the morning for the 1.5 hour journey in the Tourist Train to Aguas Calientes. You will be having a guided tour of this magnificent site before having some time on your own to explore. You will be taking the late afternoon train back to Cusco.

Day Eight: CUSCO
A free day in Cusco to relax, spend time visiting the sights or to stock up on souvenirs.

Day Nine: CUSCO – LIMA
This morning you will be catching your short flight to Lima. Your Tour Conductor will meet you at the airport to transfer you to your hotel in the Miraflores district. You will also be having a short tour of the major sites of Lima today.

Day Ten: LIMA – OUT
Transfer to the airport for your international flight. If needed, we can arrange for an extra night hotel in Lima.
