the lake. Hopefully, we will see the Red-Bellied Macaws returning
to the forest for the night. We return to the Lodge for dinner.

A pre-dawn wake-up call allows up to be on the lake for sunrise
and a hopeful encounter with a family of Giant Otters which frequent
the lake and are most active at this time of day. Most of the
fish-eating birds actively fish in the early morning as well
If we are lucky we should get some excellent views of the pre-historic
looking Hoatzins too. We return to the Lodge for a late breakfast
and then set off on a jungle walk to see some towering Brazil
Nut trees and a demonstration of how our hosts collect and process
this important product. After lunch, we board the Catamaran to
explore the eastern part of the lake where we may see one or
more of the five species of Monkey to inhabit this area, e.g.
the Brown Capuchin Monkey. After dinner we have a final chance
to spot some Caiman on the lake or to take a moonlit jungle
walk.
ACCOM – Lodge / Meals – B, L, D
After breakfast we have a final short paddle on the west end of
the lake to try and glimpse the giant Otters before returning
to the airport at Puerto Maldonado.
